Fuel Tank

Post by silverstrom » Tue Sep 06, 2011 6:17 am

Anyone know what a good NS400R gas tank (HRC) is worth? NOS still in the box price and used but very nice price. Thanks.

I have one of each and have no plans to sell right now. I have plenty of experience buying and selling RZ350 parts so I am familiar with those prices, but have never seen an NS400R tank for sale anywhere. Just curious to see what NS400R tanks are selling for, especially NOS tanks. I tend to buy a lot more parts than I'll ever need, but still think that you can't have too many spares. That includes fuel tanks. I've actually been selling a lot of my RZ350 parts to make room for NS400R,TZR, and RGV parts. Yes, it's an addiction.

5 years ago, David Silvers had 6 HRC tanks for £150 plus VAT a go. Jeff from Canada bought the lot and has them sitting at home. Shame really as I could do with one..... Rothmans tanks do come up occasionally new. There's been a couple on Yahoo Japan and at least one on Ebay UK. Don't recall how much they went for but someone on here who shall remain nameless does know...

if you do have anew HRC one and want to sell, talk to me.

NOS prices in general do seem quite high at the moment.

I see the same parts listed time and time again, so obviously they're not selling.

You can charge what you want for a new tank, but if no one has the money to buy, it will remain unsold.

Having said that, our friend from Glossop picked up an absolute bargain the other day, and is still complaining about spending the money

You just can't please some folks

Ok, £90 for this which has yet to arrive. Not quite a bargain IMHO - I did give away 2 NOS right hand ones a few years ago.... as usual, anyone have any other new HRC bodywork, talk to me. Hopefully I'll never need it. Anyone looking for a new Rothmans upper fairing, I think I've heard of one at a dealer....

£90 for a mint NOS panel, and you don't think it's a bargain.... are you mad!?

I know where there's another NOS LH HRC cowl, but it'll set you back far more than you paid.

Depending on how old that information is, forget it because it's not there anymore...

Still haven't been able to determine the value of a good NS tank. I have one that is in very nice shape that I might consider selling. I just put an NOS tank on my bike and have two spares now. Not sure I need them both. Rust free interior and excellent exterior. Maybe I'll try the bay thing.

The NOS tank I just installed was bought years ago and remained in the box until recently. Finding any NS400R parts here in North America is nearly impossible. NOS parts here do not exist. Everything I needed for my recent restoration came from the UK or Continental Europe.

Now, with two spare NS400R tanks in the shop, I thought I might sell one, but it seems to be very difficult to find out how much these tanks are worth since there are never any for sale.

I finally rolled my NS out of the shop yesterday, complete with shiny new tank. It looks good with the rest of the smokers that reside here.
