Interesting. I've never seen these advertised as aftermarket parts. Is it something you moulded yourself?

I too, needed one 12 months ago, but was kindly assisted by a forum member who pointed me in the direction of a 'Rothman's' blue one which I promptly preened and painted. :D

Hi Nigel

Ian Wright is your man for fibreglass stand covers.

Are you returning to the Fireblade forum or have you had enough?

Woops. Sincere apologies, Alastair. I don't check in here very often.

I was merely expressing interest in the fibreglas cos I hadn't seen them. It was actually Ian who tipped me off about a Rothmans one which I purchased, prepped and painted, and is now installed.

Erm, the Fireblade forum? Yes, I merely put it down to a clash of personalities. I have no probs with jovial banter and the like, but some elect to go way beyond that. I maintain my activities with the smaller https://www.fireblades.org/ and USA's https://www.1000rr.net/ where my main interest is primarily SP2 and RR-R SP related. Speaking of which, you might recall that I have one on order. With dealer's closed and Honda UK on limited functions, I have no idea when I will receive this bike!! All the best to you!

It will be interesting to know what you make of the new pirate SP. I think it was always going to be a slow seller, but with all the Covoid stuff going on now, I can see very very few selling. Who did you buy from? Not Hunts I hope

Nah, I'm miles from there! Blade Honda in Stratford-upon-Avon, from where I've purchased a few bikes including my Daytona Moto 2.

Coincidentally, I did buy a VTR SP-2 from Hunts just last January. I am aware of some adverse comment about them to which you might be referring, but I have nothing but praise and high regard for the the way the deal and subsequent delivery was handled.

SP2 looks good. The owner traded that and an SP2 blade to buy the pirate blade.

Hunts... Good at selling. They broke the tailpiece of my blade fitting a tracker. Long story short, including truing to palm me off with a used replacement, an invitation to court did the trick. I'll never use them again.

Huh? You know the previous owner of my VTR? Was previously YW02 ZBZ. Was originally from Germany and came into UK in June 2019. If you do know him, it would be nice if you'd pass on that the bike is in VERY good hands!!

Sadly I don't. John the owner of Hunts told me. He was testing if I was interested in the new RRR which I wasn't.

Must apologise for totally derailing this thread. Will stop here.

Not at £23,500! Sitting on it at the NEC showed it was no longer a road bike. Subsequent reports seem to adopt that view point. It took me enough convincing to part with £18k fir the current bike which does everything I need.

As for buying from Hunts, don't get me started.
