Front brake master cylinder replace or upgrade

Post by William »

I want to replace the front brake master cylinder with oil tank separate type, any suggestion? Should be compatible with the brake light switch.

yeah. dont go over 13mm size , i did with a radial brake 18/20 brembo, it just does not work on the original brake calipers, you have no feeling max 16mm size is the best !
yu can repair the original one ,as they do work well !

As Luggy says, the standard item works perfectly well.

Getting the correct size/ratio is critical. Brembo state theirs on the casting - eg 16x18. I'm not sure it's stamped or cast into the standard item.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is.

Does RVF400 Front brake master cylinder work on NS400 original brake calipers?

as far as i can remember, the nc35 brakes are good, other than optics , it was not better than the original set up of the ns, (minimal differences but no longer original)
i for one , have gone back to using the original mbc ,
on my racing project , i am using the brembo rcs 18/20, but then i have a ducati fork in the front
you can put all sorts on , but why ?

For original brake calipers, which mbc would work well?

if you want one with a separate resovoir, get a radial pump not bigger than 16mm, either brembo or another good make, the problem is that anything bigger does not work well as the pistons on the original brakes are too small for the amount of fluid you pump there. if you are casually racing or on the road , the best is the original set up with good brake shoes!
