Re: Rear linkages - advice needed please

It has the short bolt (32 on diagram) at one end, the other end of the bush has a hexagon for holding tight with a key, while the bush at the other end is threaded. This threaded end pushes up to a shoulder in the swinging arm and the bolt tightens up into the bush which stops the bush from coming o...

VF1000 Front Calipers on NS400R

I fitted some VF1000R front calipers (same as VF1000F) to an NS400R a while ago, the body and mounts are the same so fit straight on but the VF has bigger pistons with the same pads. The standard 400 front master cylinder worked well with plenty of feel and the bike stopped noticeably quicker. Cheer...

Re: Has anyone......

My bike is more economical since I bored it to 475 and tuned it ! It does 18 to the gallon flat out on a track day, 35 mpg average on the road and up to 42 mpg on a steady run and usually 110 - 120 miles before reserve. It averaged 30 mpg when it was standard and around 90 miles before reserve, it c...

Re: NS400R Racing !

Joe's been at it again, wins at every CRMC round so far (Snetterton, Pembrey & Mallory) this season on the NS400 race bike. A new lap record for Post Classic 750 at Pembrey and best of all, with the 444cc motor back in a new lap record for PC750 at Mallory which was actually the fastest outright lap...

Re: NS 400 NC 35 hybrid

Hi Boris, Both a 520 39t (lots of different sizes available) rear Talon /race sprocket NC35 and a front 520 15t NS250R are both listed on UK Ebay, which would give you just slightly lower gearing than standard. If your not sure on length of 520 chain you need get a long one (120 links) and cut it to...

Re: NS400R Racing !

Hi, The 400 Joe rides in the 750 class makes 75bhp at the rear wheel which is probably around 90bhp at the crank. Back in the day when the NS was being raced in the TT-F1, there were no accurate at the wheel type dynos around that were available to the public and most power figures were given by the...

Re: NS400R Racing !

Joe Barton's been at it again, he was out on the NS400 (voted race bike of the meeting by the CRMC officials) at Silverstone on Sunday in the post classic 750 race of the year and from a lowly 15th on the grid managed to win outright by 9 seconds !!!! All on film on You Tube - Joe Barton Silverstone...

Re: Aluminum radiator for HONDA NS400R

I've fitted one today to the race 444 bike, the main issue I found was that the holes in the thermostat housing were too high, around half a hole out so the housing holes needed slotting upwards. The race bike also uses NC30 forks and I found that because the neck of the filler is higher on the allo...

Re: NS400R Racing !

Hi All, The weekend had it's up's & downs, 2 production class wins, a 1st & a 2nd in the post classic 750 class on Saturday and a high side on Sunday lunch on the 444 in qualifying (9th) for the king of classics (main event / money race) which unfortunately ruled Joe out of Sundays production & 750 ...
