Re: dumb request

Wow, lots of different answers. I had the identical problem which i cured with new spark plug caps. If your bike still has the factory caps they are probably corroded or worn out. If one pipe is colder as you say, then maybe that is the cap to change. Worked for me anyway. :) Yes you have a point t...

Re: dumb request

I'd be glad if someone can point me to an easy solution Hi. Look at your spark plugs. If they are black and oily then that is a clue. And ALL 3 of them has the same "coulor". If the engine is OK and do not leak between cylinders AND your compression is OK. Then look at your gasoline consumption. If...

Re: Track day pics

How do you find the NS holds against other more recent machinery? If you look at the machinery then the NC19 is week. Newer bikes is so more powerful. With the NC19 in standard condition/trim as mine is, you do not have any advantage on the NC19. You have the same weight and the rim sizes that only...

Re: About Time I Did Something With This Bike.

The "best" or most acurate way to balance your carbs. Is to take 3 transparent (approx 4-5m) airline tubing and attach each one of them to a T-joint. hang the tubing over a high fens (or attach them to a wooden yardstick) with the T-joint as the lowest point. fill the tubing with some water and the ...

Re: Blowing water out

Hi. I do not know... But a wild guess is that it may be the 500cc conversion. In that sence that the spacer at cylinder base makes the volume below the piston bigger and therefore there is a lower compression when the piston is gowing down. And less gas will go trugh the transfer ports to the oversi...

Re: About Time I Did Something With This Bike.

When I got my bike it was stock and wanted 1 liter/10 km and as we know the NS is as stock adjusted fat (<14:1). After my air box modification (less under pressure that lift the gas up from the float bowl) and rejetting I am down to 0.8 liter/10 km. 20% less! http://www.ns400r.co.uk/forum/viewtopic....

Re: About Time I Did Something With This Bike.

This weekend I changed fork seals and dust covers. When I was at it I also changed to tapered head bearings. The thing I noticed is that it is better to fill the fork oil to the right level (120mm from the top) then with the right amount of ml. Because they do not know how much is drained in the fir...

NS400R Hybrid!

Today I got my project bike done. It is the first NS400R Hybrid! As we all know that a stroker is VERY dirty I decided to change that by put a trailer with 100kg of Li-Ion batteries. So every time I brake or drive downhill I charge the battery pack. When the batteries is fully charged I take the tra...
