Mayor of London speaks

Not just the diesel but benzine/petrol - Euro 4 - vehicles will become outcasts. Expect this at a city near you soon where you will now pay the private camera company staff that distribute the peanuts to the workers

This is now to roll out to 26 towns/cities around the UK.

If they are restricting petrol vehicles for emissions based on registration only (maintenance schedules, mileage and how they are driven is conveniently ignored) two strokes from the 80's are now in the firing line.

TFL confirms that Euro3 is the minimum standard for emissions allowed in London for motorcycles. On their site it mentions bikes manufactured before July 2007 are not likely to meet the ULEZ minimum but suggest some manufacturers may have already met the standard with certain models.

I assume the other regions will have similar restrictions.

Strangely, another page mentions that historic tax vehicles (pre 1973)

You do not need to take any action.
You are affected by the Ultra Low Emission Zone but already meet the emissions standards.
