New member intro - Cape Town South Africa

Post by Leonardovans »

Hi gents,

I am new to this forum, and I don't see a "NEW MEMBERS INTRODUCE YOURSELF HERE" page, so sorry for posting here.

I recently acquired my 1985 NS400R NC19 and came across this forum. It doesn't look very active, but I guess that makes sense because there aren't many of our bikes around.

Here are a few pics of my NS as i got her. She does start and idle, but that's about it.

Lot's of questions to follow this post in the engine section :)

Hope the images work.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Yes, it is a little quite these days, but there's still some good information available here.

So, which version do you have? Fast or slow??

Its a joke by the forum guys, its about the paint. The hrc coloured one that you have is called the faster one. Rothmans is slower they say.

Yes, that's it. Of course, the SA HRC bikes are even slower than the Rothmans bikes, because they have fewer cc's :D

The image links don't appear to work. Are there pictures of your bike elsewhere on the forum?

If I remember correctly, Alastair had an NS when he lived over in SA

I think you have to use the new version of the forum or something.

I saw this post from Ian.

Registered users should now be able to post up to 4 images in a single forum post. The size of each image is limited to 800x600 pixels or 100kb in size. Only .gif, .png, .jpg, or .jpeg images are allowed. Only registered users who are logged in can view the images. Your profile must be set to use the Sub Silver style or the images won't work. I will update the Sub Black style at a later date.

To add more than 1 image to a post you need to add the first image and then click the "Preview" button. Then "Browse" for the second image and add that. And so on for up to 4 images. Try not to use the "Add Attachment" button more than once.

Please keep the images "on subject" and expect that any thing that doesn't meet my rules to be deleted.

Feedback about any troubles you might have to be posted in the Help/Support forum please.
