changing paint scheme

Post by messer »

Currently I have a rothmans japanese import which I intend to have repainted. The bikes an 85 model I beleive.. If I changed to HRC colours would this have any impact on the bikes desirability or eventual resale value?

Why not buy a bodykit off eBay. Approx £400 landed which is far cheaper than a repaint.

Your bike will run faster in HRC colours...

I've seen one of these "cheap chinese" body kits on an SP1 and it looked pretty good to be fair. Got to be worth a go, especially if your tank is past its best

Cheers hadn't decided what colour to chose and wasn't sure if it would be detrimental to change it. I like the rothmans colours too so will just decide nearer the time

Re the Chinese kits I'm not convinced OEM is always a much better fit and finish (or am.i living in the past? )

the hrc were only offered in 1984 , 85 and 86 were rothmans, hence there being a lot less hrc colours
1984 was the sales start year , with 85 rothmans and 86 was the sell off of what is left over, at least over here, it has been known that some were sold new in germany in 1989, but in austria , catalytic converters were necessary in 1988
gravity is an extreme painful thing !

I'm not sure I've seen anything other than HRC in the States or Canada...
