Custom Rebuild

So I was out hunting for a new project when i happen to come across someone looking to offload an NS400R for a couple bottles of whisky.

He said it had blown a bottom end and was is need of a little TLC, but had some custom modifications already done to it...

Well this is what I got

So with the crank out being looked at I have given the heads and crank cases a degrease and lick of paint

I also stripped the bike down to its bare minimum...

The front end will be coming apart next and I have an NC30 single sided swingarm on the way for the rear...

Is that a Fireblade swing arm currently attached to the frame ?

actually its an nsr250 mc21 front and rear end

Apparently is a weak point on them so previous owner welded 2 together...

Frame will be modified again to fit the SSSA.

He used to be on this site a while ago apparently..

The headstock casting is where you should be looking - Check the around where the rad top mount is, roughly where the bottom rails meet the casting.

I've heard of the casting around the swingarm pivot cracking too. IMO, what you have could make the situation worse, not better..
