Reed block "insulator gaskets " reuse

Post by woody194 »

Hi all

There's an aluminium pressed type gasket which sits between the reed block casting and the inlet rubber assembly they appear to have a thin foil type coating on them, when stripped down some of the coating is left behind on each of the surfaces which I have cleaned up

Can gaskets be reused/ sealed or should they be replaced as there £13.00 each

If you coat them with a thin smear of a decent petrol resistant sealer you should be fine. Use the same stuff you use to seal the cases. If you need a tube, shout as you can have mine from the rebuild last year.

You'll be needing your engine mounts next
Test set are apparently on the water - or were 2 weeks ago. Not seen them yet.
