Will a flat battery cause this?

Post by messer » Mon Jul 14, 2014 7:43 pm

Just got my ns fired up and it runs great - it's a fresh import that's been stood a number of years so the battery is well and truly shot but the bike still runs.

The front and rear lights work fine but the Rev counter doesn't move, indicators or horn don't work and neither does the headlight flash..
Would this be the battery?

Horn and turn signals wont work with a dead battery. Mine didnt work until I put a new one in.

my Rev counter worked fine with the dead battery, and Canadian bikes dont have a "flash to pass" button so I cant speak to that.

Hope that helps

I'm surprised that the lights (headlight?) work. Indicators and horn packing in is typical.

A duff battery can often cause problems with the rev counter, so wouldn't worry just yet.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is.
